creeeeeeepiness factor ten

So, for those of you who remember this particular PSA...

kiteman - are kites made of wire, or wet string, ever?

kids - NEVER

kiteman - what about frogs?

freaky girl with freaky voice - iiii liiiiiike frogs...

kiteman - what if your kite wiiiiinds around a powerline?

kids - call the Kiteman!

Now, here is my question... what. was. up with that creeeeepy little "i like frogs" girl?

She was just like allll of the other homely children that show up in commercials. Just because your child is beautiful to you, DOES NOT mean that we should all have to look at them. The only cute kid in a commercial that I can remember in a LOONNNNGGG time was that little Australian boy "better than those hard english things" for Australain toaster biscuits.

I'm a sucker for a kiddo with an accent.

same here. when i was in london in august last year, there was this girl walking with her father outside of the national gallery and she looked up at him to ask him a question and just the way she said, "seventeen fifty seven?" was soooooo cute, i stil remember it to this day!
(you know how when we americans ask a question our tone goes up on the last syllable at the end of the sentance? well, in britain they go down at the end of the sentance... so try this game: say "1757" in a british accent as a question, letting your vocal tone be high through the sentance and then dropping down on the last syllable . . .
. . . there you go, you were adorable!)

I was just talking to this co-worker of mine. I asked her where she grew up and she responded with Wisconsin. So I said "You don't know anything about frogs then".

She was like, "I know a lot about frogs." Then another co-worker chimed in with "If you knew anything about frogs, you would have said that you like frogs since that's the only acceptable answer."

I love it! Not too many Bendites know about frogs.

I wish that commercial was online somewhere.
